The villages around Dharamshala are still inhabited by Gaddis – the shepherds, who dominate the community. During this walking tour you will find a blend of the architecture of old and new houses where the natives live with their traditions. The walk is followed by a forest where you might find a Buddhist lama in his maroon robe walking uphill towards his monastery
Kangra Railway is one of the most popular mountain railways in India built during the Raj. Starting from Pathankot in the plain it gradually enters the hills and terminates at Jogindernagar in the hills. Board the train from Kangra for a short ride till Paprola. Experience Andreta – the artist’s village nearby is the house of a legendry artist Sobha Singh who is known for making the portraits of the Sikh gurus. The original work is placed in his house and is very well looked after by his descendants. Nearby is te house of Irish playwright and director Nora Richard
