The villages around Dharamshala are still inhabited by Gaddis – the shepherds, who dominate the community. Kangra Railway is one of the most popular mountain railways in India built during the Raj. Starting from Pathankot in the plain it gradually enters the hills and terminates at Jogindernagar in the hills. Board the train from Kangra for a short ride till Paprola. Experience Andreta – the artist’s village nearby is the house of a legendry artist Sobha Singh who is known for making the portraits of the Sikh gurus.
